Return to Home Page ...

Stamina as you will see is an important aspect of Sport of Kings.
Stamina can inform you if ...
  • If your horse is ready to run.
  • If you are running your horse at the correct distance.

Training Stars

As you can see from the image above (top right), the horses stamina is 100%. This indicates that the horse is ready to run. It is practically impossible to win on less than 100%.

NOTE: Above the stamina bar, is the days since the horse last run. In this case it is 2 days, a horse will not perform optimally unless there is 3 days between each race. You will need a break of 3 full days (72 hours).

Bottom right of the image above, is the stamina column for this horse over the last number of days. Reading from the bottom, you can see
  • Its dropped from 100% to 10% (The stamina drop after running a race)
  • Increased from 10% to 36% (Due to farm training)
  • Increased from 36% to 53% (Due to farm training)
  • and so on, back to 100%

Most important, is the stamina remaining, immediately after a race

On the horses main page, to the right of the screen, click "PP Chart", something similar to the screen below will display

In the example above, there are the post race comments and the remaining stamina.
  • ... Smoothly, Tried Hard 10%
  • ... Smoothly, Determined 10%
  • ... Tired Late 9%
Most stables will advise that a stamina value of between 10% and 15%, remaining after a horse has raced is ideal.
A little under or over these values, may be fine.
This is how you can determine the correct distance for your horse.
